Interview with Steffi (Germany)

Summary of my language immersion at ILA in Montpellier

At the age of six I fell in love with the French language and I now have realized my dream – a language immersion program in France. At ILA, I was able to learn a lot of French, in a very nice atmosphere with nice people and excellent teachers. I really enjoyed my French course. My host family took very well care of me during my French language trip. The city of Montpellier is charming, I have made wonderful contacts and improved my French so I am now ready for my four month internship in Bordeaux. Thanks to ILA for this incredible French language stay in Montpellier.

What do you think about your language immersion program ILA?

The teachers at the French school ILA are all cool and extremely professional, which I greatly appreciated. You can learn French quickly and efficiently. The relationship between students was always collegial and absolutely stress-free, I could learn French in the best atmosphere and pursued my linguistic goals as I intended. The class sizes of the French language courses at ILA are optimal and the organization of the lessons is entertaining and varied.

How was your accommodation during your French language stay at ILA in Montpellier?

I decided to live with a local French host family in order to enjoy a real family environment and to speak French. This is the best way to practice French outside class and to learn French in an authentic environment. I chose the option to prepare dinner myself, so I was always independent and free – so I could go out a lot. I enjoyed this formula very much for my language stay in Montpellier. My host family cared a lot for me and always made me welcome at their home.

Do you recommend Montpellier for a language immersion stay?

Montpellier is an ingenious city; people are open and communicative – simply perfect for a language stay in France. I have made great friendships locally, especially also during my Jiu-Jitsu course. I will never forget this – I would not have expected such a friendly and easy-going way of life in France, but Montpellier is very special. I would highly recommend Montpellier for French language travel.

Why do you learn French and what are your future plans?

I love French language since the age of 6 years; during an exchange project at school. Since then, learning French in France has always been a dream of mine. I’ve been preparing for my upcoming internship in Bordeaux here at ILA French language school in Montpellier. After my internship I will go back to Germany to start my studies.
