Good experience in Montpellier, assisted by the rythme of the young student population within old town Montpellier. Teaching experience at ILA excellant with homework being not too demanding. On 50 plus course the social side along with activities enhanced the enjoyment level. May well return next year.
C'était une très belle séjour chez ILA (et mon premier). L'échange avec les participants et les professeurs est super, sympa et facile. ILA donne tout son soutien pendant votre séjour. Montpellier est archi chouette (!!!) et très très bien connecté. Finalement je donne cinq de cinq étoiles!

I like the lessons and the contact with other people. When I had a question , the help was good. I had an appartment in the center for myself. I like that the most. The teacher was very helpfull and for me I made progress in speaking French.

I found ILA to be an excellent school for seniors who wish to be immersed in the French language and to to experience French culture. I have been to other places in France, but Montpelier is among the most stunning and interesting cities I've encountered. A great school in a great location provides a memorable experience.

I had the chance to learn French in a lovely city with a great teacher and a supportive group of students. I felt the homestay provided extra opportunities to practice my French. William is an outstanding teacher and I enjoyed my time in Brigitte’s home. My group of fellow students were amazing.

Ich hatte viel Freude am Unterricht und Montpellier ist eine sehr schöne Stadt mit breitem kulturellen Angebot. Das abwechslungsreiche Angebot für Veganer in der Stadt, habe ich sehr genossen. Der ausgezeichnete Unterricht an den Vormittagen hat mit besonders gefallen. Die Zeit ist wie im Flug vergangen. Am Nachmittag mochte ich die Spiele, die Stadt-Ralley und Karaoke sehr. Der Bildungsurlaub hat mit sehr gut gefallen. Der Unterricht war interessant und abwechslungsreich. Alle meine Lehrkräfte waren gut. Aber die beiden Lehrerinnen an den Vormittagen waren besonders gut. In der ersten Woche war das Maguelonne und leider fällt mir gerade der Name der Lehrerin in der zweiten Woche nicht ein. Die beiden waren fantastisch! Ich komme gerne wieder.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning French at ILA. The teachers were incredibly professional; the courses were not only engaging but they were also very encouraging and supportive of students at all levels. Interacting with classmates from many different countries was a fantastic experience, allowing me to learn about diverse cultures and practice understanding various accents. My homestay was conveniently located, providing me with numerous opportunities to practice French and learn about local French culture outside of class.
Good weather, good food, good lessons, nice environment and motivated and kind students and teachers! I liked the lessons really much, they were very active lessons. I learn the best in this way, thanks to the teacher Julio. Also the communication between students and school was good.

Maguelonne brings great theatrical energy to the class. Good material and is very patient with everyone. Montpellier is a fantastic place, with lots to see and do. I uses the velopass bikes to go to Palavas and the free zoo. I enjoyed trying new food like Tielle. Great city, super group, great ambiance and I think I moved forward with my French, overall a great experience. My 5 star host deserves top marks.

Dieser Sprachaufenthalt war für mich eine Herausfoderung, weil mein Französischunterricht lange her ist. Ich hatte einen tollen Lehrer und nette Kursteilnehmer - der Austausch mit Menschen aus vielen Nationen ist ein weiteres Plus. Die Veranstaltungen am Nachmittag, Abend und am Sonnabend waren sehr abwechslungsreich und haben mir das Languedoc näher gebracht.

A very short one to keep in touch with French. I would like to do it again and/or stay longer but unfortunately I don't have such a possibility. I recommend the school to everybody who wants work on their speaking skills
This is my second time at ILA and I look forward to a third time in the future. Every teacher I have had here- Angelique, Florence, Isabelle, and Laure- have been incredibly talented in each of their own ways and truly seem passionate about their craft. They are all valuable professionals which is why I return to ILA.
Overall I had an amazing experience and I was very sad to leave! After only one month I learned to speak basic conversational French and that is a testament to your team, so I am very very grateful for the time and opportunity to study there!
Es war abwechslungsreich, sehr angenehm und obwohl es nicht sehr anstrengend war, habe ich viel mitgenommen. Die kurzen Grammatikeinheiten waren optimal, um eigene Schwächen zu indentifizieren, die zur Verfügung gestellten Materialien völlig ausreichend, um die Themen nachzuarbeiten und die Schwächen auszubügeln. Schön auch, dass alle zu so einer angenehmen Atmophäre beigetragen haben.

C’etait formidable! Absolutely amazing definitely an experience I won’t forget. I loved the variety and organisation of what the course in tailed and that you could ask questions if you were unsure.
I feel my comprehension and listening skills improved. The different tenses of verbs was well presented. It is up to me to take the time to memorize the work. The school was well organized. I liked the method of teaching. The amount of work covered was balanced. Not too much and not too little. All of my teachers were outstanding. They were charming, had a sense of humor and kept the class going at a very good pace.
I came on a sundy night by plane. The guideclass off the first day was really helpfull and the teachers and stuff of ILA were very friendly. I stayed for 3 weeks therefore was the public transportation fre of charge. I would really recomment, if you want to meet people, party a lot and generally take part in various activities to join the WhatsApp groupchat Erasmus Montpellier. I did that and I said I met a lot of new people and I had generally a great time there. The 3 weeks flew by very quickly. Those 3 weeks reallz helped me to improve my french and now I feel that I am in a very good track for the B2 DELF exam.

I feel that this was two weeks well spent. I met some great people, had fun and feel that my ability and confidence in French has grown. I’m seriously thinking about taking the B2 Exam. I will return next year.
Ein toller Aufenthalt mit einer guten Mischung aus Lernen und Freizeitprogramm, bei dem man das Gelernte direkt umsetzen konnte. Die Nähe zum Zentrum, die gemeinsamen Ausflüge, die zusätzlichen Angebote (z.B. der Kochkurs). Ich habe nette Menschen aus verschiedensten Ländern kennengelernt. Es war immer jemand an der Rezeption, um Unterstützung zu geben, sehr hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter.
Mein Aufenthalt war extrem toll! Ich fühlte mich sehr wohl in meiner Gastfamilie umd fand mich auch in der Stadt gut zurecht. Die Schule war ebenso sehr untersützend, ich konnte sehr viel lernen und für die Zukunft mitnehmen.
Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen, nicht nur um Französisch zu lernen, sondern auch um neue Freundschaften zu knüpfen.
The town was very friendly, the homestay family was so lovely, as was everyone in the cooking and french course. The teacher was so nice and so was everyone in the class. amazing experience!

The entire stay was incredible and I put that down to the incredible teacher we had, and the great mix of people in my class. We were all impressed by the young students in the class that chose to hang with those of us there to learn in retirement. A very good mix. This is my second French learning course (AIX in 2024). The teaching style and the teacher (Marine) was much better in MP. Including grammar exercises was very important for me and my style of learning. The people in my class were a good mix of level understanding, ages, and countries.
Hervorragender Unterricht, ich habe viel gelernt. Man fühlt sich wohl und ist motiviert französisch zu sprechen. Der Unterricht ist kurzweilig und macht Spaß. Komplexe Themen wie das Subjonctif wir in verträglichen Umfang vermittelt, sodass der Spaß am Lernen nicht verloren geht. Den Aufenthalt habe ich Privat organisiert. Montpellier ist eine wundervolle Stadt.

It was an intense two weeks. I did not have very much experience of conversing with people and that was quite hard for me at the start. However I really appreciated the "immersion" in French and felt that I benefitted from that a lot. I really enjoyed meeting other students from different countries. The small class size was great too. The activities really added to my experience. A Fantastic experience!! I would love to be able to come every year...
The school and the teachers are very professional - and friendly. The course layout was good. I also appreciate that there were organized activities during the afternoons and the first Saturday. I spent a wonderful week at Montpellier and at ILA. It was super!

I had so much fun here, it's been one of the best vacations I've had in a long time because I was productive with something that I'm passionate about, but I also got to spend time out of school with friends. I liked pretty much everything, the classroom size, the fact that most kids were around my age, the actives varied, the teachers, and Brunelle and Roxane made me want to actually learn French.
Wir waren zum 3. Mal für eine Woche in Montpellier. Eine wunderschöne Stadt mit interessanten historischen Gebäuden/ Geschichte. Man kann in das französische Leben auf vielfältige Art eintauchen. Die Stadt Montpellier bietet vielfältige Möglichkeiten, das französische Leben kennenzulernen. Das Institut ist mitten in der Stadt. Von dort aus findet man schnell zu Museen, Geschäften, Restaurants, einem Park.
Going into ILA I did. It know what to expect. Once getting passed the idea that only French is spoken in the classroom, the A1 teachers methodically use students words and experiences as building blocks to help them form usage of the French language. There is a lot of content so students need to put the work into learning and practicing so as not to fall behind.
Le cours a étè magnifique et, surtout vous avez la chance dávoir deux professeurs qui non seulement sont sympathiques. mais que possèdent en plus un vrai talent pour enseigner de manière agrèable et amusante. My friend Nicole and I organized our own Airbnb stay, it was wonderful. We took a quick 15 minute tram to school every day from the Castelnau de lez area. Loved the students, the teachers, friendly reception, and quick responses from emails. I appreciate the guarantee we were given of getting into morning classes. I loved our teacher! I also really love that the school (both locations) are very central in Montpellier.

C’était la deuxième fois que je venais à l’école ILA. Cette fois, je suis restée seulement une semaine. J’ai suivi le cours standard le matin et j’ai aussi eu trois cours particuliers l’après-midi. J’ai participé à une activité : un atelier de pâtisserie, que j’ai beaucoup aimé. Comme la première fois, l’ambiance à l’école était très agréable et les cours étaient bien organisés. Ce que j’ai le plus aimé, c’est l’ambiance dans l’école. Les professeurs sont très motivants et les cours sont intéressants. J’ai beaucoup aimé la méthode d’enseignement. Les cours sont clairs, dynamiques et bien adaptés à mon niveau. J’ai apprécié qu’on parle beaucoup en classe. Cela m’a aidé à être plus à l’aise à l’oral. Ce que j’ai préféré, c’est de rencontrer des étudiants de différents pays et de pratiquer le français avec eux.

Good opportunity to network with more people. ILA staff are really friendly and responsive. Combination of host family and studying was great. A place to go everyday with a smile, our class appreciated a lot the performance of our teacher. het knows his metier, carefully giving individual attention, humouristic, a true asset of ILA. The feeling of being welcome, this adds someting extra that absolutely makes the difference. It starts when you enter, say Bonjour and the staff replies likewise.

This was a great class. The teacher customized the lessons according to the interests of the students. The in-class work and the homework were varied and contributed to learning. The activities were great. I loved the small class sizes and being in a class with others who had similar interests and who were at the same level in French.

Ich habe die 2 Wochen sehr genossen, habe viel gelernt, motivierte und gut Lehrer gehabt und viele interessante Bekanntschaften gemacht. Gerne werde ich die Schule weiter empfehlen. Ich habe schon mehrere Sprachaufenthalte gemacht auch in anderen Sprachen. Ila ist für mich eine der besten Schulen bis jetzt. Das Programm und der Unterricht ist sehr gut Srukturriert und es gibt einen guten Aufbau. Der Unterricht ist sehr abwechslungsreich.

He is a fantastic teacher and cares about the learning of his students- consistently employing versatile learning formats to engage his classroom.
An extremely valuable experience. The course was engaging and clear to follow, activities were well structured and innovative. I feel that my French has improved massively since my course, especially my oral skills. The people in ILA were amazing too - I loved meeting students of all nationalities and learning more about other cultures. The ILA staff were patient and welcoming, and I had an outstanding teacher.

Die beiden Wochen haben meine Sprachkenntnisse spürbar verbessert. Für meine Bedürfnisse, war der Unterricht bei Laure perfekt. Viel Konversation. Sie konnte sehr gut auf die Bedürfnisse der verschiedenen Kursteilnehmer eingehen. Ihre mitreissende Art und ihr Humor hat den Unterricht wie im Flug vergehen lassen.
A wonderfully stimulating and enjoyable time. I learned a lot, not just French. The opportunity to interact with people from different cultures is a learning experience in and of itself.
